As of October 2021, there were <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/heycar.co.uk\/blog\/electric-cars-statistics-and-projections\">345,000 electric vehicles<\/a><\/strong> on the UK roads.<\/p><p>Large businesses throughout the country are finally beginning to embrace the potential of EVs. Green transport can save money, cut emissions and boost green credentials. This is particularly true for businesses with offices and sites located in the UK. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ecarclub.co.uk\/busting-the-myths-about-electric-cars\/\">99%<\/a><\/strong> of journeys that are made in the UK are less than 100 miles in distance. This means that fully charged EVs are suitable for most journeys within the UK. For longer distance journeys, there are several other EV car models available, with a 200+ mile range.<\/p><p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgrid.com\/\">The National Grid<\/a><\/strong> has proposed optimum locations for grid capacity, to allow for ultra-fast chargers. This will ensure that nobody on the UK\u2019s motorways will be further than 50 miles from a charge point at any given time. Giving drivers more confidence when driving an EV for long distances.\u00a0<\/p><p>Car drivers can also reduce their vehicle\u2019s energy consumption in various ways. These costs can be as little as 1p a mile for off-peak electricity, as well as lower maintenance costs.<\/p><p>As more businesses and individuals continue to make the switch to green transport, the price of EV batteries is likely to drop. This could also lead to a drop in upfront costs further down the line as well.<\/p><p>New cars under \u00a335,000 are now eligible for a government grant of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/common-misconceptions-about-electric-vehicles\/common-misconceptions-about-electric-vehicles\">\u00a32,500<\/a><\/strong>. BMW and Nissan are among vehicle manufacturers that have recently reduced the prices of their electric models to less than \u00a335,000. But it is estimated that if everyone in the country switched to electric vehicles, we would still only experience a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/common-misconceptions-about-electric-vehicles\/common-misconceptions-about-electric-vehicles\">10%<\/a><\/strong> increase in demand.<\/p><p>The UK now uses less energy today than it did in the<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/agenda\/2019\/08\/uk-energy-same-as-50-years-ago\/\"> 1970\u2019s<\/a><\/strong>, despite an extra 6.5 million residents. And this is due to increased efficiency. As our appliances become more energy efficient, the demand on the grid is reduced.<\/p><p>There may be unforeseeable problems further down the line concerning this green mode of transport.
